Sell us your soul
This service is provided for free. We collect almost no data. We do not sell your data, share your data, or use your data for anything other than to provide you with this service. When you sign up, we gather a Vite address, a WCG member name, and a WCG verification code. We keep track of total points earned and work unit names from WCG to know how many tokens you've earned. This is the only data we need to provide this service and therfore the only data we currently collect. We may soon gather and process data from World Community Grid to provide you with more sophisticated stats. This might be turned into a leaderboard or something similar. We will not sell or use this data for anything other than to provide you with this service. You're computing stats, which we'd get from WCG, might be displayed to other users on the site if we upgrade the stats. If you're interested in getting your data removed for any reason, please contact us at: fruitcompute@gmail.com and we'll promptly remove it. As the site evolves, we'll probably add an automated method for this that works instantly. We don't use cookies, but we do use local storage to keep track of your Vite address, so you don't have to re-enter it every time you want to view your stats. Please see the Privacy Policy for more information on our data practices (The current one is generic and is a little overkill for this service. It will soon be updated with one tailored for the site). We make absolutely no guarantees about this service, except for what's specifically been stated or required by law. We can not absolutely guarantee that you will recieve tokens for computing. We will do our very best to reward you for computing for science, and so far we haven't missed a single person that's both signed up, and checked with us if it didn't work for them right away. By far the most common reason for not recieving tokens is that the user signed up with the wrong WCG verification code. Please make sure you've signed up for the team before getting your verification code from WCG. You can also double-check that it's 32 characters long. The terms actually will probably be updated in the very near future with a professional one.
